When it is summertime in Missouri it is HOT and cars can feel like ovens, ovens with no doors or windows. I have a 1999 Ford Expedition and I crack my windows but at times that is not enough to keep the steam from inside of the car. Once you turn on the air conditioner it takes a minute for things to start cooling off.
The Front and Side sun shade set make this better for me in getting the car cooler as you drive. The system I call it lets you attach to the front windows like peel and stick, I would suggest like I did to wash off the windows with a vinegar, water mix and let dry to keep the bubbles out I would use something that you can press down like a ruler or something to keep the air holes out. This should help in keeping the windows clean and clear for application of the side shade. The other part of the kit it just sits in the front window and you place in place for your window size. This was the way I did with my car.
